The painting is after "Psyche revived by Cupid's kiss" c 1796, by Gaspare Landi (1756 - 1830). The original painting hangs in the Museo Correr, Venice. The painting is probably based on Antonio Canova’s sculpture of “Cupid and Psyche”. The marble sculpture is 1550 mm high and was executed between 1787 and 1793. The sculpture is on display in the Louvre, Paris.
